INFORMATION PACKAGE FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE

The Faculty of Agriculture was established in 2006 and began its education and training life in 2008. Undergraduate, graduate education, agricultural research and application activities are carried out in the Department of Plant Conservation, Plant Protection, Field Crops, Agricultural Economics, Biosystem Engineering, Soil Science and Plant Nutrition and Zootechnics. The Faculty of Agriculture offers undergraduate education in Agricultural Engineering in accordance with the information given below.

Horticultural Crops

The aim of the Department of Horticulture is to carry out education and training activities in the Eastern Anatolia Region in our country and to contribute to the rural development in the field of Garden Plants in universal sense.

There are two laboratories dedicated to the use of the department. Greenhouse and trial areas are available at the Agricultural Research and Application Center.

Plant Protection

Within the framework of a four-year program, the Department of Plant Protection educates agriculture engineers on issues such as the introduction of solutions to problems such as disease or damage to crops caused by harmful and weed in agricultural products.

Biosystem Engineering

Agricultural Structures and Irrigation, Training engineers who are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, identifying problems related to the field, have research and problem-solving, and analytically thinking skills.

Field Crops

The main aim of the department is to make investigation, and provide training for the management and improvement of meadow, pastures, Cereals, Legumes, Fat, Fiber, Starch, Sugar, Feed and Medical plants.

Agricultural Economics

The Department of Agricultural Economics carries out a training plan in order to educate agricultural engineers who are suitable for the age and conditions of business life. Thus, the Department of Agricultural Economics aims to educate graduates who are inclined to interdisciplinary studies, questioner, find creative and original solutions to problems.

Soil Science and Plant Nutrition

To increase the productivity of soil-water resources and the natural environment, to increase and sustain their quality, to increase the agricultural production. To solve the productivity and productivity problems caused by the soil, having knowledge and equipments as a requirement of the age, capable of fixing problems and solving problems, the Agricultural Engineer has the duty to find solutions to the problems in the light of the latest developments in the future and to produce information for this solution, to transfer the produced information to the application and to disseminate this information.

Zootechnics

Department of Zootechnics consists of animal breeding and breeding, feeds and animal feeding, biometry and genetics. The aim of the department is to contribute by carrying out scientific researches and projects that can respond to the problems and expectations of the region and country animal husbandry.

Landscape Architecture

Landscape architecture has acquired the vision of providing national development contribution by educating innovative and developing open landscape architects who have accepted their professions as life philosophy, having theoretical and practical scientific and technical knowledge, culture, talents and work discipline within the professional discipline and serving the public and private sector.

Conditions of admission and registration

In the result of the exam that is made by student selection and placement center (OSYM) or the examination of foreign students, the student has to be registered with the university's vocational colleges and vocational schools in that school year, or in pre-registration systems, it is necessary to have points and conditions.

Entrance Requirements For Graduate Programs

Applicants who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in their undergraduate or postgraduate programs, provided they hold a valid score from the ALES exam and have a foreign language certificate testifies they have sufficient level from any foreign language; (English, German and French, or foreign languages considered equivalent by the Interuniversity Board).

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be accepted from institutions accepted by Higher Education Council. Graduates of Vocational Schools who succeed in the vertical transfer examination can also be admitted to continue their education in order to obtain a bachelor's degree. The courses that these students take will be determined by taking the courses they have taken from the vocational college they have graduated previously and considering the courses they have achieved. The students who come to the faculty by horizontal transfer are also given the right of accommodation. To do this, you need to apply to the Student Affairs Office at the Faculty (courses are exempted as letter grades and attend grades).

Curriculum and Academic Calendar

Education and training are organized on the basis of semester or year. The education and training semesters consist of fall and spring semesters in the semester units. One semester can not be less than fourteen weeks, one year can not be less than twenty-eight weeks. The days when official holidays and year-end and repeat examinations are held are not taken into account in the calculation of this employee.

Examinations, Assessment and Evaluation

Students are assessed during the semester and at the end of the semester. The success of a course is determined by the course grade. The course grade is obtained by evaluating the student's achievement during the semester, such as midterm exams, applied studies, assignments, and the final exam. The achievement grade of the student is calculated by adding 40% of the midterm exams or 60% of the midterm exams and 60% of the midterm exams. A note taken from studies such as laboratory, workshop, clinic work, homework, application, project, seminar, presentation, short term examination, internship, work place education and similar studies can be added to the midterm exam note, provided that the midterm exam grade is declared by the teaching staff before the exam. However, the note effect does not exceed 50%. In order for a student to pass an exam, it is compulsory to take at least 50 points from the semester / year or the make-up exam. A student who does not receive this grade is considered unsuccessful regardless of the average of the course. Fractional notes are converted to the nearest whole number.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the undergraduate program, students must successfully complete at least 240 ECTS credits in the curriculum, have a GPA of 2.0 or above, and successfully complete their internship.

They can work in areas such as fungi, nursery, seedling, greenhouse, and they can also establish their own garden, greenhouse enterprises.

Plant Protection

They can work in universities and municipalities such as Antbirlik, Çukobirlik, Tariş, in institutions such as DSI, Undersecretariat of Soil and Agricultural Reform, TMO and Ziraat Bank in affiliated organizations of Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs.

They can work in laboratories, greenhouses, facilities that make

Zootechnics

Landscape Architecture

They can usually work in universities, municipalities and construction companies that make mass housing.

They can create their own business opportunities by establishing a landscape architecture office. They can grow, produce and sell several ornamental plants.
